The all-new i20 N is equipped with Hyundai SmartSense™ Advanced Drivers Assistance System features. This includes features such as Forward Collision Assist (FCA), Lane Following Assist (LFA) and Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW).
Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW).
At speeds of 20 km/h and above, a car with Blind Spot Collision Warning uses rear radar sensors to scan for vehicles driving in the driver’s ‘blind spot’. If it detects a vehicle, it alerts the driver with a lamp on each respective side mirror. If the driver then proceeds to activate the indicator lights or starts to make a lane change, a visual warning flashes and an alert is sounded.
Driver Attention Warning System.
This feature analyses a driver’s on-road actions for signs of fatigue or otherwise unsafe driving. If the system senses inattentive driving patterns or frequent steering corrections, an audible sound and alert on the display panel will bring this to the driver’s attention.
Forward Collision Avoidance Assist (FCA).
The Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) system, when active, utilises the windscreen-mounted camera to detect and monitor vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists in front of the i20 N. FCA works in conjunction with the Forward Collision Warning (FCW) to sound a warning chime and displays a visual alert, if the system thinks a collision is likely. It can also automatically apply the vehicle's brakes if it detects a potential collision ahead.
High Beam Assist (HBA).
While you’re driving with your high beam headlights on, High Beam Assist is automatically scanning the road ahead. If it detects an oncoming vehicle, it will automatically dim your headlamps to low beam.
Lane Keeping Assist (LKA)
This safety feature uses the windshield mounted camera to detect lane markings and road edges to monitor the i20 N’s position in the lane. Should the vehicle stray from the intended lane without indicators being activated, an audible and visual warning will be sounded and where required, steering intervention will be provided to help keep a veering vehicle in the centre of its lane.
Lane Following Assist (LFA).
This electronic safety system uses a vehicle’s windshield-mounted camera to detect lane markings on the road to monitor its position in a lane. If the vehicle strays from its lane without its indicators being activated, an audible and visual warning will sound to alert the driver.
Rear Occupant Alert (ROA).
This system monitors the vehicle's rear doors opening and closing so nothing is accidentally left behind the i20 N. When the driver stops the engine and opens their door to exit, ROA will display a "Check rear seats" warning message in the supervision cluster.
Intelligent Speed Limit Assist
i20 N is fitted with a Manual Speed Limit Assist (MSLA) system, which additionally gains Intelligent Speed Limit Assist function (ISLA). Drivers can activate MSLA by long holding the cruise control button on the steering wheel and set a speed using the speed toggle. When the set speed is reached, i20 N will limit engine power to prevent the driver from exceeding their set limit. If the speed is exceeded, a warning chime will play to prompt the driver to slow down.
ISLA adds functionality on top of this. Using the front windshield mounted camera, ISLA can read speed limit road signs and display the information within the cluster for the driver to refer to later. If MLSA is set, ISLA can prompt the driver to adjust their set speed limit using the steering wheel mounted controls.
